Welcome to Project Mnemo

Project Mnemo is about memory, and about preserving memories for the far future.  It is also about sharing memories, and weaving these memories together to create a story of a life, a family, a community or even just a place and time.

[Mnemo is in development. Statements about function reflect future intentiions rather than current capability.]

I Remember ...

We all want to tell our stories, to ourselves and our families, and perhaps more widely. Mnemo will help you record your memories in text, pictures and sounds, and then to organise them into a proper story.

Mnemo will also help you to record the memories of, say, an older relative who may be losing their ability to recall the past.

After a bereavement, Mnemo can provide a place and a structure to gather memories of the person who you have lost.

On a more prosaic level, Mnemo is your photo album, your diary, your filing system, and will ensure that nothing gets lost or becomes unreadable.  We prioritise security, continuity and managed privacy.

We Remember ...

You can use Mnemo to share your memories with whoever you choose.  The most intimate memories might be shared with only a few (or no one at all), but other memories might be right for a wider circle of family members, friends, or acquaintances.  In this way, small or large groups can collaborate: Mnemo will weave together these memories to create the story of a family, a group of friends, a workplace, a sports team, or any other group you can imagine.

Mnemo can also remove identifying details from recorded memories so that they become suitable for sharing more widely. When enough people collaborate in this way, the ambition is that Mnemo can be used to tell the story of an entire community.
